How to Improve Your CarrierSource Rating

iStock-1413680990So you have a low star rating on CarrierSource? Don’t panic! You can easily combat negative reviews and improve your CarrierSource rating by gathering more reviews from your satisfied customers.

If you have never thought about gathering reviews for your business, this may seem like a very daunting task, but below are some tactics you can implement today to start getting people talking about your company.

Gathering Reviews

In the “Reviews” tab of your CarrierSource dashboard, you’ll find your company’s personal review link. You can share this link with your customers and they’ll be taken to a review form specific to your business. If you need any help finding this link,  send us an email at support@carriersource.io or call us at 708-374-7144.

Once you have your link, here are some of the most successful ways we've found to start gathering reviews:

  1. Email & Text: The best way to get your customers to leave a review is by simply asking. Email and text are both great options because there is a low barrier to entry. You should tailor your message to be as personal as possible, including the medium that your customers would most appreciate. After all they’re taking time out of their busy days to do you a favor, the least you can do is personalize your ask. You want to make sure you’ve recently worked together or you have a long term relationship, so it’s not completely out of the blue and the review gives you relevant feedback. It won’t be useful for you to hear how you did four years ago for John Smith. Within 6 months is usually the sweet spot.

This outreach can just be a one-off, or you can set up messages that automatically go out after milestones that a customer reaches. You could ask when they first work with you, after your 10th load, or after any other milestone relevant to your business. Regardless of when you decide to reach out, make sure you are top of mind for them so the review will be relevant and timely.

  2. Email Signature: A more passive way to gather reviews is by putting a link to your review form in your email signature. This makes it so that your customers see the message every time they interact with you, but it’s not aggressive or in their face. Just a small reminder so that on the day they finally have time, they’ll remember that you are always looking for their feedback.
  3. Social Media: Create posts about how you are looking for feedback. You can also include your review link directly in your profile description on all major platforms.
  4. Website: It is easy and effective to link to your review form on your website. If you are using a chatbot or engagement tool, ask for feedback while someone is on the site. Your business will be top of mind for them, and they’ll likely be able to share specific feedback in the moment.
  5. Other: Anywhere you interact with your customers, you should be asking for reviews. If you’re having an in person meet up with some customers, have the link handy and ask everybody to spend five minutes writing a review. If you are doing a webinar, throw your review link in at the end. Make review and feedback requests a critical piece of your entire marketing strategy.

Additional Messaging

here are email templates for you to use above if you go the email route, but we've included some more inspiration for your outreach below. Make sure that the messaging feels personal because you want to make them feel special and that you value their feedback. No one is going to respond to an email that says:

Dear customer. Please review our business.

But they very well might respond to an email that says:

Hi {FIRSTNAME}, Thanks so much for choosing us as your carrier partner for {JOB YOU DID} last week. We are always trying to improve and would love to get some feedback from you on the experience and how it can be even better. You can share your feedback here. It was an honor to work with you and we look forward to serving you again. Please let me know if there is anything you need. {YOUR NAME}”.

A message like that will get you positive results. The four main messaging angles we use are:

  1. Pride: Every customer is critical to your business, so make sure they understand that their opinion is important. Some examples of messaging you could use is “I wanted to make sure we asked you.” “As one of my favorite customers, I want to make sure your opinion is included.”
  2. Help Others: Inform them that by sharing their review they will be helping their peers. “People need your advice.” “Your peers are looking for recommendations that only you can provide”
  3. Be Heard: Make sure they know they know they will be listened to. “Share your opinion with the world”
  4. Effect Change: Their review will make a difference, so make sure they know that! “We are implementing changes based on our reviews and want to make sure you get a say.” “It’s important to us to identify and take advantage of the opportunities you share with us”

These are just some of the ways we’ve found that work the best. Everyone’s customer base and company is different, so what resonates with some, will not resonate with others. Always be testing! If a message doesn’t work one day, try a different one. Eventually you’ll find your sweet spot. The bottom line is just start asking for reviews. Your customers will be happy that you value their opinion and thrilled to make a difference with their feedback.
